EU Data Privacy in Practice

Story by Server Management, 07-05-2009, 0 comment

This free whitepaper looks at Microsoft’s approach to data compliance and how it meets EU data privacy regulations.
Companies doing business in the European Union (EU) need to comply with the EU’s data privacy policies, which are aimed at regulating the processing of personal data.

Businesses often find that, while they want to comply with the EU’s privacy rules, it is unclear what those rules will practically require. This uncertainty can put innovation on ice, limit investment and retard business growth. Microsoft has created a whitepaper that looks at how Microsoft Corp has approached compliance with the EU’s privacy rules.

The whitepaper looks at Microsoft’s handling of EU privacy rules in six key areas: notice and informational disclosures; internet “cookies”; computer spyware and web beacons; unsolicited commercial communications; automatic product updates; and personal data security.
