Microsoft and HP announce cloud alliance

Data management will be the first area to benefit.
Microsoft and HP have announced a closer alliance in the area of cloud computing. A further $250 million (£153 million) of investment has been announced by the two companies for the next three years to ensure their software and hardware will work together to offer simpler technology environments for businesses of all sizes.
The partnership will start work in the area of data management, continuing to applications and virtualisation/cloud computing products. Steve Ballmer, discussing the partnership, talked of te possibility of Microsoft's Azure being developed as a private cloud within data centres.
