The release candidate for Microsoft System Center Essentials 2010 is now available for download. It is designed to give IT professionals in mid-sized organisations a better way to secure, update, monitor, and troubleshoot from a single console, so you can efficiently and proactively manage your IT environment.
Essentials 2010 has a single console that is used for monitoring and management with summary information, common tasks, alerts and reports.
The management of virtual servers has been strengthened in this release, with tools for provisioning, importation, management and live migration of virtual servers.
Essentials can also be used for tasks such as packaging and deploying software, and configuring Microsoft and third-party updates. It also has integrated alerting, expert knowledge and troubleshooting for servers, PCs and IT services running in your IT environment.
The actual improvements to this release are
